Bill is a high energy executive who consistently delivers successful results in the convenience retailing channel.  With 37 years of marketing and operations experienceBill values and operations emphasizes the importance and benefits of positive work environments.  

After a rewarding career at 7-Eleven, in 2010 Bill transitioned to Family Express Convenience Stores in Indiana as Vice President of Marketing. The organization was honored to be named the 2015 Convenience Store Chain of the Year under his leadership. Prior to that, his 28-year tenure at 7-Eleven began in Las Vegas, Nevada where he was operationally responsible for both corporate and franchised stores. His territory soon expanded to include Northern California and Arizona. An eventual transfer to the East coast had Bill overseeing all marketing and personnel in five states before a final Midwest move that encompassed a six-state territory.  As a c-store veteran, Bill successfully managed nearly every category in the channel – from retail pricing of fuels to the introduction of hot foods and energy drinks – and he fully understandthe value of cost negotiations and vendor relations. 

A Background in Convenience Retailing 

Bill’s executive leadership roles honed his expertise in corporate operational and marketing contract negotiations, new store construction and acquisition growth, as well as, interior design and merchandising. In today’s rapidly changing retail environment Bill believes it is necessary to envision change quickly (especially in technology), rely on ROI analysis, and have an interest in both learning and implementing current trends. At Family Express, Bill developed the infrastructure and talent of the marketing department to a level of expertise that fostered success in a very competitive environment. His primary focus has always been to improve short- and long-term profits by permitting the business to re-invest in personnel, infrastructure, or innovation.   

An Insider Perspective of Recognizing and Anticipating Consumers Changing Needs/Values/Demands: 

Successful customer interaction pays dividends in both building loyalty and discovering consumers’ wants and needs. Therefore, Bill places value in developing critical consumer loyalty and social media marketing programs with a focus on team building that nurtures the best customer relationships and sales plan execution. Additionally, Bill has helped secure and rebrand several multiple and single store acquisitions that included ground-ups and rebuilds, lending him significant knowledge. Bill also helped develop and optimize direct store warehouse management facilities.
