Mike leverages this unique combination of industry knowledge and expertise to develop and execute targeted and meaningful marketing strategies.

A Unique Background of Retailer, CPG and Technology Experience

Mike began his career in retail with Ahold USA beginning in Store Management – providing him working knowledge of all departments including perishables, non-perishables, and front-end operations that eventually led to his role as Product Specialist for over 20 stores across two regions. He then moved into category management as a Buyer/Merchandiser responsible for procurement, supply chain logistics, marketing, promotional planning and overall category performance across 550 stores and 9 states.

Moving to the vendor segment, he then joined Ocean Spray Cranberries as Customer Marketing Manager where he developed and executed trade and customer marketing programs for national grocery chains, implemented retailer-specific marketing and advertising programs, and built co-marketing partnerships with other national CPG companies. As Retail Operations Manager, Mike was responsible for all retailer and broker in-store execution, and collaborated with RBMs, Team Leaders and Zone Managers to develop and execute retail action plans focused on shelf merchandising, assortment, promotional plans, and new item launches.

Mike then joined a SaaS company providing a data, payments and analytics platform that enhanced collaboration between retailers, both grocery and convenience, and their suppliers. Mike held various leadership roles including Vice President of Business Intelligence & Strategic Development – a role in which he led advancement of a retail analytics platform focused on improving retailer and CPG collaboration through shared insights. As Executive Vice President of Operations & Business Integration, he maintained operational oversight of client services and support, business integration and data integrity. Mike then became Executive Vice President of Marketing & Business Strategy, assuming leadership and oversight of strategic marketing vision, planning and execution – inclusive of both outbound and inbound approaches – to build brand awareness and support sales efforts to achieve revenue and profit objectives.

Mike received his MBA from top-ranked Babson College, and his BA from UMass, Amherst. He and his wife Kim live in Phoenix, Arizona.
